4. **Sieves:** These are mesh screens with varying mesh sizes or openings. They’re placed on the platform and used to separate particles based on size. The finer particles pass through the finer mesh, while larger particles are retained on coarser meshes.
5. **Clamps:** Clamps secure the sieves onto the platform to prevent them from shifting or falling during operation.
6. **Control Panel:** Modern sieve shakers may have a control panel where you can adjust settings such as vibration intensity, duration, and sometimes even specific patterns of shaking.
Operation:
– Start by placing the appropriate sieve sizes on the platform, stacking them from coarsest to finest, with the coarsest sieve at the bottom.
– Secure the sieves in place using the clamps.
– Set the desired shaking parameters on the control panel, such as vibration intensity and duration.
– Turn on the sieve shaker, and the motor will initiate the shaking action.
– After the shaking cycle is complete, carefully remove the sieves and collect the separated particles from each sieve for analysis.
